Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-06-22 · Effective: 2026-06-01
These terms are the agreement between you and Erasr. By signing up and using the service, you agree to them. They're written to be readable; if anything is unclear, email us and we'll explain.
What Erasr does
Erasr is a subscription tracker. You forward your billing emails to a private Erasr inbox; we use AI to detect which ones represent recurring charges, organize them in a dashboard, and (on the Plus tier) help you cancel the ones you don't want. Detection isn't perfect. We won't catch every subscription, and we'll occasionally flag a one-time charge as recurring. You can correct mistakes from the dashboard.
Our promise on vendors
Erasr never takes money from vendors to promote them. We don't do paid placement, affiliate kickbacks for keeping a subscription, or "featured" deals. The whole point of Erasr is to help you cancel things you don't want — if a vendor could pay to change what we show you, the tool would be worthless. We work for you, not for them.
What E' can do in the app
When you ask it to, E' can carry out actions inside Erasr for you — for example, hiding subscriptions you don't want to track, recategorizing charges, or setting a rule so a vendor always lands in the category you choose. A few things are always true about these actions:
- You're in control. E' only acts when you direct it. It does not take actions on its own or in the background.
- You confirm first. Before anything changes, E' shows you exactly what it will do — which items and what the change is — and waits for you to confirm.
- You can undo it. These in-app actions are reversible, and Erasr keeps an activity log of what E' did so you can review or reverse it.
- It stays inside Erasr. E' organizes your own data inside the app. It does not move money, make payments, or cancel a contract with an outside vendor on your behalf. Cancelling a third-party subscription still happens with the vendor, as described below.
Who can use Erasr
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your province if higher) and have the authority to enter this agreement. Erasr is designed for Canadian users; some features (currency display in CAD, the cancellation library) are tuned for Canada. We'll work in other markets but make no service guarantees outside Canada.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in email secure. Don't share your account; don't let someone else forward their emails to your Erasr inbox. We'll suspend accounts that appear to be sharing across multiple unrelated people.
Plans and pricing
- Free: email inbox connection, monthly total, count of subs, full list shown blurred. You can choose any four subscriptions to unblur in detail. Every signup also gets a 7-day Plus preview.
- Plus: $6.99 CAD/month or $69.99 CAD/year. Full unblurred list, cancellation deep-links, email templates, renewal alerts, snooze.
- Premium: waitlist at launch. Will offer concierge cancellation when we build it.
Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude applicable taxes (GST, PST, HST, QST as relevant to your province). We may change prices with 30 days' email notice. Existing subscribers keep the current price for the remainder of any prepaid period.
Billing, renewals, and refunds
Plus subscriptions auto-renew monthly or yearly until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep paid-tier access until then.
We don't offer prorated refunds for partial periods, except where required by Canadian consumer protection law (notably Quebec's Consumer Protection Act for automatic-renewal contracts). If you believe you're entitled to a refund, email billing@erasr.ca and we'll review.
Payment is processed by Stripe; we never see your card details. If a payment fails we'll retry per Stripe's default retry schedule and email you. If recovery fails after 14 days, the account downgrades to Free until billing is restored.
Cancelling subscriptions (other vendors)
Erasr helps you cancel third-party subscriptions, but the actual cancellation happens with the vendor. We provide a deep-link (Plus tier) or a pre-written email template, but the contract is between you and the vendor. We don't guarantee any vendor will honour a cancellation request. The 48-hour "Did this work?" prompt is for our own measurement and helps us improve the deep-link library — it doesn't bind the vendor.
What you can't do
- Forward emails belonging to someone else without their consent.
- Use Erasr to scrape, harvest, or analyze emails for purposes other than personal subscription tracking.
- Attempt to interfere with the service's operation (rate-limit evasion, automated abuse of the cancellation library, etc.).
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute access to Erasr.
We can suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms. We'll usually warn first; we won't for severe abuse (fraud, illegal content).
Disclaimer of warranties
Erasr is provided as-is. We work hard on detection accuracy but don't warrant the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that detection will identify every subscription correctly. We also can't guarantee a vendor's cancel flow will work (URLs change; vendors restructure flows). Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights you have under Canadian consumer protection law.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Erasr's total liability to you for any claim arising out of this agreement is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100 CAD. We're not liable for indirect or consequential damages (lost profits, lost data, etc.). Canadian consumer protection law may give you stronger rights that override this limitation.
Feature suggestions
By submitting a feature idea through Erasr ("Submission"), you agree to the following:
- License grant. You grant Erasr (its successors and assigns) a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, modify, combine, distribute, display, perform, and create derivative works from your Submission for any purpose, including (but not limited to) building features in Erasr or any future Erasr product. This license survives termination of your Erasr account.
- No claim of origination. You acknowledge that Erasr may independently develop, or may have already considered or be developing, features similar to or identical to your Submission. You waive any current or future claim that Erasr's development, release, or distribution of a similar or identical feature was caused by, derived from, or substantially attributable to your Submission, except where Erasr at its sole discretion attributes the feature to you in writing.
- No obligation to build. Erasr makes no commitment, express or implied, to build, develop, release, or maintain any feature based on a Submission. Erasr may decline, ignore, modify, or delay any Submission for any reason or no reason.
- Discretionary rewards, not a contest. Erasr operates a discretionary contributor-rewards program — not a contest, not a sweepstakes, not a prize draw. If Erasr at its sole discretion determines that a shipped feature is substantially attributable to a Submission, Erasr may (but is not required to) acknowledge the contributor with a discretionary reward, typically one (1) free month of Erasr Plus credit; in rare cases involving exceptional contributions, up to one (1) free year. Reward decisions are made solely by Erasr; there is no contractual entitlement, no published prize pool, no fixed eligibility criteria the contributor can point to as a winning condition.
- First-submitter eligibility. If multiple users submit substantially similar ideas, only the earliest submission (by server-recorded timestamp) is eligible for any discretionary reward. Later submitters may receive acknowledgment but no reward.
- Pre-existing roadmap items. If Erasr can demonstrate (via internal records dated before the Submission) that the feature was already planned, no reward is owed; the contributor may receive acknowledgment.
- Public attribution is optional. Erasr may, at its discretion, name or anonymize contributors when crediting a shipped feature. You may request to remain anonymous; Erasr will honor reasonable requests.
- No confidentiality. Submissions are not treated as confidential. Do not include personal data, trade secrets, or anything you would not be comfortable Erasr using or publishing.
- No employment relationship. Submitting an idea does not create any employment, contractor, partnership, joint-venture, or agency relationship with Erasr.
- Governing law. This clause is governed by the laws of the Yukon Territory, Canada (the jurisdiction in which Erasr is built). Disputes are resolved per the dispute-resolution section of Erasr's master Terms of Service.
- Severability. If any provision of this clause is held unenforceable, the remainder remains in full force.
Gmail connection
If you choose to connect your Gmail account via the "Connect Gmail" button instead of setting up forwarding yourself, you authorize Erasr to use the gmail.modify scope solely for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy: reading billing-keyword-matching emails for subscription detection, and applying an "Erasr-processed" label so you can see what we've touched. We do not send mail, compose mail, or modify message contents under this scope.
This authorization is revocable at any time via Settings → Gmail connection in the Erasr app, or directly from your Google Account's security settings (myaccount.google.com/permissions). Revocation immediately stops further reads.
Your data
See our Privacy Policy for what we collect and how we handle it. The short version: it lives in Canada, we don't sell it, you can delete it any time.
Erasr improves its categorization defaults over time by learning from corrections users make to their own transactions. This process is described in detail in our Privacy Policy — the short version is that no personal data, dollar amounts, or account identifiers leave your account; only the vendor → category pattern itself, and only when several users have independently agreed on the same correction. The pattern stays inside Erasr. You can opt out any time in Settings → Learned categories.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If the changes affect your rights or obligations, we'll email you 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Erasr after that constitutes acceptance.
Termination
You can stop using Erasr any time by deleting your account. We may terminate or suspend your account for material breach of these terms, with notice where reasonable. On termination, your data is handled per the Privacy Policy.
Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the Yukon Territory and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of the Yukon, unless a non-waivable provincial consumer protection statute requires otherwise.
