Security & privacy

No mystery. Here's exactly how it works.

Plain words, no fine print. If a security page needs a lawyer to read it, something's being hidden. Not here.

Where does my data live?

On computers in Toronto, Canada — run by a company called Supabase, in a place they label ca-central-1. It stays in Canada, not down in the United States. The backup copies stay in Canada too.

What do you collect?

Your email address, so we can set up your account and send you a code to sign in. The billing emails you choose to forward to your private Erasr inbox. The subscriptions we spot in those emails, and what you decide to do about each one (keep it, cancel it, deal with it later). If you pay for Plus, our payment company Stripe gives us a customer number — never your card number. Stripe keeps your card, we never see it.

What do you NOT collect?

Your inbox. Your bank login. Your card number. Any email you didn't forward to us. We don't buy information about you, and we don't sell it either. There are no ads here, so there's nothing pushing us to.

How does email forwarding actually work?

In your own email (Gmail, Outlook, iCloud — whatever you use), you set a rule that quietly passes billing emails along to a private Erasr inbox we make just for you — u-xxxxxx@in.erasr.ca. From there they come safely to us. We never get your email password, and we never reach into your inbox. Mail only ever comes to us because you sent it our way.

Is anything read by a computer assistant?

Yes — and only for one job. The emails you forward go to a company called Anthropic (the makers of Claude), whose job is simply to answer: is this a regular charge, who's it from, and how much? That's all. Your emails are never used to teach their assistant, and they never go to anyone selling ads.

Is my information locked up?

Yes, in two ways. While it travels to and from us, it's scrambled so no one can read it along the way. And while it's sitting on our computers in Toronto, it's locked there too. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email — there's no password to remember, which also means there's no password of yours for us to ever lose.

How do I delete everything?

In the app, go to Settings → Delete account. Type your email to confirm, and it's really gone — not just switched off. Everything tied to you (your emails, the subscriptions we found, your cancellation history, your feedback, your notifications, your credits) is wiped out. We checked this ourselves, piece by piece, and wrote down what we found. The only thing left is plain head-counts — like "how many people use Erasr" — with nothing in them that points back to you.

What would have to go wrong for my data to leak?

Honestly? Someone would have to steal the master keys to our Toronto computers, or Supabase itself would have to be broken into, or the secret that protects your private Erasr inbox would have to leak and a stranger would have to also know your exact private inbox address. We keep those keys somewhere we can change in a moment if we ever need to, your information is fenced off so it can't be reached the easy way, and the door your forwarded mail comes through is locked and watched. Nothing is unbreakable — nothing ever is — but there are no ads here, no companies we hand your information to, and no outsider with a standing key. Keeping the whole thing as small and simple as possible is, by itself, a way of keeping it safe.

🍁 Your data stays in Canada — in Toronto (Supabase, ca-central-1). · Yours, and only yours — never sold, no ads, and gone for good whenever you ask.
