We ranked 50 popular subscription services by how many clicks, retention prompts, and phone calls stand between you and a clean exit. Updated continuously by the Erasr team and confirmed by real users in our 48-hour cancel-success surveys.
Subscription products in Canada vary wildly in how easy they are to leave. Some — Netflix, Spotify, GitHub, ChatGPT Plus — let you cancel in two clicks from a single account screen. Others — Bell, Rogers wireless, GoodLife Fitness — require phone calls, written notice, or in-person visits to a counter. The asymmetry isn't accidental: friction is a retention tool.
This index ranks each service from easy (one or two clicks), to medium (multi-step with retention prompts), to hard (phone-only, dark patterns, or no online flow at all). We don't score companies on price or quality — only on the friction-to-exit dimension.
